Kumar For New York: Field Director
The congressional campaign for NY-07 is seeking an enthusiastic organizer to direct the aggressive field operations of a grassroots campaign for New York's 7th Congressional District. As Field Director, you will work closely with senior staff to develop and implement a field program unprecedented in the district, mobilizing the community to connect with our neighbors intimately, on a large scale, in a short timetable. This position is full-time (standard campaign hours), in-person, and will run through the end of June 2026, with possibility to extend to November 2026. Responsibilities
Field Strategy: Design and oversee implementation of the campaign's field operations, set targets for direct voter contact and volunteer recruitment.
Volunteer Recruitment & Management: Recruit and supervise a large volunteer team, through events, social media or other means, and train volunteers for leadership roles.
Data Management: Manage field data entry and validation, monitoring progress towards targets. Report results, and adjust strategy as needed
Operations Management: Manage logistics of all canvassing, phonebanking, voter ID, and GOTV efforts of both in person and virtual field operations, providing support to volunteer leaders as needed.
Qualifications
2+ cycles of electoral organizing experience
At least 1 cycle of experience on a congressional or larger-scale campaign required
Experience managing staff and volunteers
Strong working knowledge of VAN/VoteBuilder and organizing tools
Excellent communication and organizational skills
A sharp eye for detail and organization.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced campaign environment
Preferred But Not Required
Familiarity with the district or strong community ties.
Experience organizing across diverse communities.
Petition signing and early vote program experience.
Spanish proficiency is a plus
