Job Purpose
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of onboarding and compliance of the HR Department. This includes, but is not limited to, all aspects of the new hire process, assistance with new hire orientation, and assistance with follow-up and tracking of compliance area.
Job Responsibilities
Liaison between the company and the temp agencies to recruit for temporary roles to cover for leaves and/or any special projects.
Coordinate interviews with management and agency temps.
Follow up on compliance with onboarding documents.
Process transactions in Workday, such as requisitions and adding candidates.
Maintain agency temps spreadsheets up to date.
Coordinate equipment set‑up and orientation details.
Onboarding
Manage the onboarding process, ensuring that all pre‑employment processes and forms are completed accurately and on time.
Primary contact for any and all follow‑up and communications with candidates, references, vendors, etc. when information is not received timely or needs clarification.
Schedule new hires for medical, fingerprinting, background checks, and timely follow up with vendors on results.
Follow up and ensure all background screening reports are received from all vendors; review results to compare to application, resume, etc. to ensure all items are satisfactorily met.
Update all onboarding logs accurately and timely.
Interact with new staff and work closely with Hiring Managers, Recruiters, HR Supervisor and Training Department.
Provide support to new employees, answer questions, and resolve issues.
Communicate onboarding status with management.
Escalate immediate findings and discoveries that could jeopardize the employment offer status.
Maintain, organize, and upload documents in onboarding log and Workday system on a timely basis.
Participate and assist in the monthly new hire orientation; provide in‑service presentations as needed.
Conduct employment references for new hire candidates if needed.
Schedule:
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related fields preferred, or up to 2 years of equivalent experience.
Experience:
At least 1–2 years of solid HR compliance and/or onboarding experience. Home care agency experience is preferred.
Other:
Excel and Word proficient, strong written and verbal communication, knowledge of Workday.
Physical Requirements
Standing – Duration of up to 6 hours a day.
Sitting/Stationary Positions – Up to 6–8 hours a day.
Lifting/Push/Pull – Up to 50 pounds of equipment, baggage, supplies, and other items using OSHA guidelines.
Bending/Squatting – Ability to safely bend or squat to perform the essential functions.
Stairs/Steps/Walking/Climbing – Ability to safely maneuver stairs, climb up/down, and walk to access work areas.
Agility/Fine Motor Skills – Ability to operate and activate equipment, devices, instruments, and tools to complete essential job functions.
Sight/Visual Requirements – Ability to visually read documentation, papers, orders, signs, etc., and type/write documentation with accuracy.
Audio Hearing and Motor Skills – Ability to listen attentively and document information; speak comfortably and clearly to facilitate communication.
Cognitive Ability – Ability to demonstrate good decision‑making, reasoning, and analysis to satisfy essential functions of the job.
