Overview Lead product strategy and innovation for AWS Data Center Engineering's Global Products and Services organization. This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of mission‑critical infrastructure products across five key verticals: Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, Security, and Robotics. You'll define the vision and roadmap for products that power AWS’s global data center infrastructure while driving cost reduction, improving builder experience, and managing technology from invention through scale.
Key Job Responsibilities
Define and execute strategic vision and long‑term roadmaps for major data center infrastructure product portfolios.
Consider make‑vs‑buy decisions for our product stack from substation to server while keeping scaling and speed in mind.
Partner with Design Engineering, Operations, and cross‑functional teams to integrate products seamlessly with building design.
Own product lifecycle from concept through deployment and sustainment across Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, Security, or Robotics verticals.
Drive industry‑level innovation in data center infrastructure, evaluating design requirements and developing solutions that meet evolving demands.
Lead cross‑organizational stakeholder alignment and influence company‑wide infrastructure strategy.
Deliver measurable business impact through reduced cost to serve and enhanced operational efficiency.
Ensure quality control on all vendors, including contract manufacturers and OEMs.
Product Verticals
Controls: Scalable DC control solutions for improved automation.
Electrical: Power distribution frameworks – full power solutions from substation to server.
Mechanical: Air and liquid cooling infrastructure.
Robotics: Operational automation solutions.
What We're Looking For
Proven ability to manage strategic direction for significant product portfolios in complex technical environments.
Experience defining vision and strategy for new product domains with high ambiguity.
Track record of solving the hardest product management challenges in infrastructure or hardware products.
Demonstrated cross‑organizational influence and ability to drive industry‑wide shifts.
Deep understanding of data center infrastructure technologies including cooling systems, power distribution, control solutions, or physical security.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of product management experience with at least 8 years in technical product management roles.
5+ years of managing complex infrastructure or hardware product portfolios.
Proven track record defining and executing product strategy for mission‑critical systems at scale.
Deep technical knowledge in at least two of the following domains: data center infrastructure, power distribution systems, cooling technologies, control systems, physical security, or robotics.
Experience leading cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to drive product lifecycle from concept through deployment and sustainment.
Strong analytical skills with experience making data‑driven product decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience in hyperscale data center environments or cloud infrastructure.
Background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or controls engineering.
Track record of driving industry‑level innovation and influencing technology standards.
Experience with vendor management including contract manufacturers and OEMs.
Proven ability to manage make‑vs‑buy decisions for complex technology stacks.
Experience delivering measurable cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
Knowledge of automation technologies and robotics applications in industrial settings.
Familiarity with power systems from substation to server‑level distribution.
Experience with liquid cooling infrastructure and advanced thermal management solutions.
Strong executive presence with ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $214,500.00 – $290,200.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
