
Tax Analyst (Remote)

Our client, a water technology provider, is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Analyst for a 6+ month contract opportunity. This role is fully remote, but candidate must be located in the eastern time zone.
Seeking a detail-oriented Sales & Use Tax Analyst to support the tax compliance team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in accounting or tax compliance and is familiar with transaction tax filings and data gathering for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare transaction tax returns for timely monthly, quarterly, and annual filings. Collect and organize accounting and tax data to ensure compliance with tax regulations. Assist with tax compliance by researching applicable tax laws and regulations, providing guidance, and maintaining up-to-date tax information. Support sales tax audits by preparing required documentation and resolving discrepancies. Reconcile tax accounts, identify discrepancies, and ensure proper reporting. Utilize Vertex software to assist with tax calculations and filings. Maintain accurate records of tax filings and audit-related documentation. Provide data gathering support for monthly compliance tasks. Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in tax compliance or related field. Bachelor's degree required (preference for Business or Accounting). Must be able to work in Eastern Standard Time Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions. Ability to research and interpret tax laws and regulations. Experience with sales tax audits and reconciliation of tax accounts is a plus. Experience with Vertex tax software is a plus
