
Real Estate Associate

Miller Canfield is seeking a Real Estate Associate with approximately 4–6 years of experience to join its Chambers-recognized Real Estate Group in Troy or Ann Arbor. This position is ideal for a self directed attorney who is comfortable running transactions and taking ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
Our Real Estate Group represents developers, investors, lenders, landlords, and governmental entities on sophisticated commercial real estate matters, including transactions involving financing, development, leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, economic development incentives, and public private partnerships. Responsibilities The successful candidate will have meaningful experience handling a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including:
Acquisitions and dispositions of commercial and mixed-use properties
Commercial leasing, including office, industrial, retail, and ground leases
Real estate financing transactions
Negotiating Design and Construction Agreements
Development matters and project structuring
Easements, title, survey, and due diligence matters
Public private partnerships and transactions involving governmental entities
Associates in this role are expected to manage transactions or significant components of transactions independently, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and work directly with clients.
Qualifications
Approximately 4–6 years of commercial real estate transactional experience
Experience handling deals with limited supervision
Strong drafting, organizational, and communication skills
Licensed and in good standing in Michigan, or eligible for admission
