
Residential Construction Foreman/Superintendent

Kasten Builders, a custom builder and remodeler specializing in high‑end residential construction in the Bay Area, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Residential Construction Foreman/Superintendent to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and proficiency with industry‑standard management and scheduling software. You will coordinate daily operations, supervise field personnel, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. Your energetic approach will drive project momentum, foster teamwork, and deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on‑site construction activities, ensuring work is to code, completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain workflow efficiency
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to guide project execution
Utilize construction management software for scheduling, budgeting, and project tracking
Conduct quality control inspections to uphold standards and ensure adherence to project specifications
Manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, daily reports, and safety logs
Perform hands‑on carpentry and general fieldwork as needed, setting the standard for craftsmanship and supporting crews to keep work progressing efficiently
Oversee site safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations; conduct safety meetings and inspections regularly
Monitor project progress against schedules; adjust plans as needed
Ensure proper use of construction estimating techniques for cost control and resource allocation
Supervising experience involving multiple trades and subcontractors; excellent management and communication skills are essential
Experience
Ten years minimum experience as a Foreman/Project Superintendent managing high‑end residential ground‑up or renovation projects from start to finish
Experience with high‑end residential projects required
Strong knowledge of construction trades, scheduling, and safety compliance
Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret plans, safety standards, and technical documents
Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Buildertrend or similar construction management software; computer and tech savvy a must
Fluency in Spanish is desired, but not necessary
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively
Independent work ethic as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Willingness to travel to and work on projects throughout the South Bay and East Bay
This is an in‑person work position
Compensation
Full‑time salaried position, from $120,000 to 180,000 annually
