Fractional Video Editor

Gofractional, Atlanta, GA, United States

Video is one of the fastest ways we communicate the Roots story across social media, paid ads, and product marketing. We’re looking for a freelance video editor who can help us scale content production and turn raw footage into polished, high-performing video. This is a high-output editing role, producing both short-form and long-form content. You’ll work closely with our Creative Director to edit videos quickly, maintain brand quality, and help us continuously improve our content performance. This role begins as a part-time contract with the potential to expand into a full-time opportunity as our content needs grow. Role Responsibilities

Edit 10–40 videos per week across short-form (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) and long-form formats (YouTube, product walkthroughs, case studies). Transform raw footage, screen recordings, and existing assets into polished videos optimized for social media, paid campaigns, and marketing content. Use AI-assisted editing tools where appropriate to help generate rough cuts or batch process content, then refine with strong editorial judgment. Apply motion graphics, text overlays, sound design, and color correction to elevate the final product. Ensure all content aligns with Roots brand standards while contributing creative ideas to improve performance. Manage your editing queue and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, async-friendly environment. Support in-house video production when needed, including camera operation, lighting setup, or general production assistance (a plus but not required). Qualifications

2+ years of professional video editing experience, ideally in a startup, agency, or creator-driven environment. Strong proficiency with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut. A strong portfolio demonstrating social content, marketing videos, ads, or longer-form storytelling. Experience with or curiosity about AI-assisted editing workflows. Understanding of pacing, hooks, and storytelling techniques that perform well on social platforms. Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality, while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and communication skills for async collaboration (Slack, Loom, project management tools). Bonus Points

Experience shooting video (camera operation, lighting, basic audio setup). Motion graphics or animation experience (After Effects). Experience editing paid advertising creative. Familiarity with product marketing or SaaS-style content. A strong pulse on internet culture and social trends.
