Mechanical Piping Designer

Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Piping Engineer for a top energy company in Houston, TX. As part of a collaborative team of fifteen, this individual will leverage SolidWorks to design 3D structural skid‑based models that integrate a variety of mechanical, static, and electrical equipment. Daily responsibilities include producing and reviewing a wide range of technical drawings, such as piping layouts, general arrangements, isometrics, schedules, tie‑point/interface diagrams, insulation details, and structural general arrangement drawings. Additional tasks involve preparing weld and connection details, foundation and equipment support drawings, weight/center of gravity reports, manual valve lists, HVAC ducting layouts, instrumentation diagrams, process and instrument flow diagrams, pump alignment drawings, and OSHA‑compliant handrail, ladder, walkway, and platform details.

Skills and Requirements
5-10 YOE as a piping designer
Proficiency in SolidWorks OR CADWorx; plus if both (if only cadworx, must have interest or drive to learn SolidWorks Prior data center experience
Prior experience in the Petrochemical or Downstream Oil & Gas industry
Navisworks software proficiency
