Job Title: Interior Designer
Ministry/Department: Real Estate
Reports to: Real Estate Project Manager
Status: Full-time, exempt
Supervisory Role: No
Objective The Interior Designer collaborates with the Real Estate Project Managers and the Real Estate Ministry (REM) team, internal and external stakeholders and vendors to design, furnish and install campus and external projects. This role ensures the implementation of design vision across multiple locations and provides leadership in furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE), while fostering a culture of teamwork, communication and servant leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession and fellowship
Provide leadership and oversight of FFE operations, including furniture purchases, movement, assembly and placement for campus construction projects and minor renovations
Partner with the REM Team Coordinator to coordinate and lead project workdays
Instruct FFE Associate with furniture refurbishment including painting, light carpentry and repair
Leads installation and placement of artwork, mirrors, accessories and taxidermy
Partner with the CAPEX Project Manager on minor renovations, including finish selection, and FFE projects, ensuring alignment with design standards and project timelines
Accountable for the CAPEX FFE budget
Collaborate with the Real Estate Project Management Team to implement design vision across multiple campuses and external projects, as required
Communicate with end user for programming and space planning of offices and other spaces through vision boards and clearly illustrated design plans
Partner with contractors and vendors to ensure that work is completed with excellence
Selects finishes and prepares millwork drawings, as required
Disciple apprentice (when applicable) and serve staff, fostering a collaborative and communicative environment
Prepare and manage FFE budgets for campus construction projects and minor renovations
Process receipts, invoices and credit card purchases
Create inventory spreadsheets per project
Represent REM by attending Campus Ministry meetings, contributing to cross-functional communication
Create and maintain finish boxes and design documentation
Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in interior design is strongly preferred
Experience in interior design or decorating with a professional portfolio, commercial experience preferred
CAD, SketchUp or other digital drawing capabilities to communicate space planning is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work Work Hours Expectations: 40 hours or more.
Schedule Expectations: Monday through Friday (hours can vary based on church needs and may include working full weekends).
The church has several big events (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.
Our entire staff family is called to action, so that we can continue to be a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Work Environment / Physical Demands Work occurs in an office, storage/work area and at construction or campus sites, with travel to locations in and outside Jacksonville (about 30%). The role is active and requires regular screen time, lifting up to 50 pounds, moving furniture, using tools, repurposing items and frequent standing, bending and overall mobility.
Ministerial Exception The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
Staff members who qualify under the ministerial exception are not covered by federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws. Please see the Human Resources Ministry team if you have questions on whether you are subject to the ministerial exception.
