
Director of Campus Life

Are you passionate about crafting an unforgettable student experience? The Director of Campus Life is the heartbeat of student engagement at Coe College. In this pivotal leadership role, you won’t just manage programs—you’ll mentor the next generation of student leaders and shape the culture of our campus. Reporting directly to the Dean of Student Life & Co-Curricular Programs, you will lead a collaborative team to bring the Coe campus to life. Your mission is to use an educational, student-centered approach to help students find their "home" through co-curricular interests, leadership development, and inclusive programming.
Supervise the Campus Life Coordinator.
Plan and coordinate with the Campus Life Coordinator to implement campus-wide programming in partnership with other departments on campus for events such as Homecoming Week, Welcome Week, Late Night Breakfast, Club and Organizations Fair, and other campus-wide events.
Advise Greek Life chapters and the Greek Councils Executive board members to coordinate their events such as recruitment, Greek Week, Greekend, Meet The Greeks, and Greek Retreats.
Advise Student Senate Executive Board and coordinate their events such as Elections, LoCoe, and other events.
Attend Student Senate committee meetings to ensure their goals are met and they adhere to college policies.
Oversee the planning and execution of Flunk Day with the Flunk Day Committee.
Manage and update the websites for: Parent Programs, Greek Life, Student Organizations, SAC, and Student Senate.
Collaborate with the Campus Life Coordinator to support all student organizations and their faculty/staff advisors so the student groups can achieve their organizational goals while still adhering to college conduct expectations.
Assist with the oversight of Flight Path, our involvement app that supports student engagement across campus.
Serve on the crisis response team with other Student Life team members.
Oversee Parent Programs through programmed events such as Family Weekend and Parent/Family Orientation.
Work with the Dean of Students to engage with Coe parents through development of communication materials and communication outlets such as newsletters.
Coordinate and implement programming for student leaders including the annual training of student org. leaders and advisors, leadership awards, etc.
Create marketing materials for the department and campus wide on a weekly basis via social media.
Develop and Collect weekly events happening at Coe to create weekly Campus Wide newsletter emails- This Week At Coe.
Serve as a hearing officer through the conduct system.
Provide support to Student Life staff members to ensure programs and events are staffed by the Student Life Office.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in student personnel, counseling or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Two to three years of progressive experience in student affairs in a higher education setting. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. Successful completion of a background and driver check in accordance with Coe College policy. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

Ability to generate an inclusive and holistic experience for all students to feel belonging in a college setting. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in program coordination. Willingness and ability to develop staff and students as competent leaders. Dedication to the educational mission of a private, residential liberal arts college. Ability to maintain positive relationships in a collaborative and diverse team atmosphere. Commitment to excellent customer and/or student service. Demonstrated ethical and responsible decision making. Consistent attendance and accountability necessary to meet position objectives.
