
Corporate Accountant- Luxury Brand

Our client, a luxury jewelry brand, is seeking an Accountant to join the team! This individual will have an instrumental role in all monthly financial closings, audits, sales and property tax filings, and budgeting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to booking, reconciling and reporting financial activity.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to the general ledger.
Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Ensure all financial closing and reporting deadlines that have been assigned are met.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist in all audits.
Assist and prepare sales/use tax filings, property tax filings and other regulatory filings as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree in accounting or finance required
3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in retail environment
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Previous experience working in the field of Accounting and with general ledger software
Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
Proficient in computer applications – specifically with MS Excel
