Job Title
Mechanical Designer
Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for plant layout and equipment layout, executing mechanical designs for capital expansion projects and renovations of existing facilities. You will work with industrial buildings, visualizing 3D settings, and using tools like Plant3D and AutoCAD to design within existing spaces.
Responsibilities
Perform plant layout and equipment layout for industrial buildings.
Conduct in-house mechanical design, including life safety systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, piping, gas, and fire sprinkler systems.
Develop preliminary design documents such as conceptual designs, technical specifications, and site plans.
Design process piping, select equipment, and create material lists for industrial projects.
Review contract documents and drawings for accuracy and compliance.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant3D, and Microsoft Office.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably from an industrial or manufacturing space.
Ability to visualize and design in a 3D setting using laser measurements and point clouds.
Strong understanding of MEP systems, dust collection, and conveyor design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in design and drafting or a related field.
Experience in Food & Beverage, Agricultural, Mineral Processing, and Power Industries.
Ability to develop detailed design documents for construction packages.
Strong working relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors.
Work Environment Our office is centrally located in the popular Regency District of Omaha, offering easy access to the Dodge Expressway and interstate. The suite provides a professional work environment with modern technology, and employees have their own cubicle areas. The role is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits for 3D laser scanning. Enjoy a casual dress code, flexible hours, and opportunities to work from home as needed. Our team of about 15 fosters a culture of respect and value, encouraging employee input and involvement in company decisions.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.85/hr.
