Tax Managers are responsible for the management of all phases of tax compliance for assigned clients in a variety of industries. Managers participate in firm administration and management, including staff and firm development.
Competencies and Position Requirements
Dedicated to high-caliber client service
Supervise staff and seniors and review their work product for completeness and accuracy
Provide timely, high quality services that meet or exceed client expectations
Develop a rapport with client personnel and the firm engagement team
Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of tax compliance and planning at both the federal and state levels in the areas of individuals, trusts, and estates
Responsible for timely and effective explaining of tax objectives, budget information, and other relevant engagement information to staff and seniors
Research tax issues and develop sound solutions, and comfortably discuss issues with the engagement principal and management
Monitor job progression, including budgeted versus actual hours, and provide timely updates to the principal
Use technical expertise to develop others through training sessions, mentoring, supervision, and coaching
Provide seniors and staff with timely, honest, and constructive feedback
Seek to identify proposal opportunities for services to existing or prospective clients, and communicate opportunities on a timely basis to firm management
Education and Experience
5 or more years of experience providing tax compliance and planning services to high net worth individuals and family groups
CPA or JD (MST or LLM in Taxation a plus)
Work Environment
Minimal travel required
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs

The expected salary range for candidates in the Massachusetts market is $106,057 - $159,140 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
