Instructional Designer

Must Have:
Technical writing and training development experience, detail oriented, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the Power Generation utility industry.
Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media.
Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed.
Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment.
Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, train the trainer, and pilot.
Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
Available during office hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST) Monday – Friday
Required Skills:
3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led training for technical skills; such as electrical utilities or related industries.
Bachelor's degree in instructional design or education related areas of study.
Skilled in instructional design methodologies and technical writing.
Experienced in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables on time.
Work closely with team and subject matter experts to proactively communicate concerns, issues and risks.
Desired Skills:
Experience in hydroelectric operations, general construction, and heavy equipment operation
Master's degree in instructional design or education related areas of study
Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Articulate 360
