JMark Services is seeking an Operational Planning & Posture Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the U.S. Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) G-5 Plans Directorate at Camp Smith. This role serves as the technical authority for deliberate planning support and posture integration, ensuring that high-visibility planning products are coherent, defensible, and aligned across the Joint Planning and Execution Community (JPEC). Unlike execution-focused roles, this position is designed for a senior expert who steps in where complexity, ambiguity, and risk threaten mission outcomesproviding structure, clarity, and authoritative guidance without owning daily task tracking. What You'll Do

You are the standard-setter. The quality gate. The person who makes sure nothing leaves the room half-baked. Establish and maintain planning-support standards, including templates, quality gates, staffing checklists, and version-control protocols Advise government leadership on complex planning strategies, integration approaches, and decision frameworks Conduct senior-level technical reviews of high-visibility briefings, information papers, and planning documents Resolve complex integration challenges, including conflicting guidance, misaligned assumptions, and incomplete inputs Translate strategic guidance and policy into actionable planning inputs and posture implications Shape Operational Planning Team (OPT) and working group outcomes through narrative alignment and analytical rigor Coach senior and junior staff on advanced writing, editorial judgment, and staffing discipline Identify systemic inefficiencies and recommend scalable improvements to increase first-pass acceptance and reduce rework What You Bring

Required Qualifications

Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field Completion of Professional Military Education (PME), including: Career-level school (e.g., Expeditionary Warfare School or equivalent) Intermediate Level School (ILS) (e.g., Command and Staff College or equivalent) 10+ years of deep experience in joint/service planning and senior leader decision support Demonstrated expertise in JPEC processes and planning forums (e.g., OPTs, JPGs) Proven mastery of: Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) Joint Planning Process (JPP) Advanced capability in drafting, editing, and enforcing consistency across planning products Ability to meet government workplace requirements and maintain required access Strongly Preferred

Advanced operational planning education (e.g., SAMS, SAASS, JAWS, MAWS, War College equivalents) Senior PME (e.g., CGSC/ILE, USMC Command and Staff College, Naval War College) Prior experience supporting U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, MARFORPAC, HQMC, MEF HQ, or other Combatant Commands Doctoral degree in a relevant field Core Competencies
