Job Overview Paseo Construction is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead the on-site execution of a 50-unit, 7-story apartment construction project. This role is fully responsible for managing all field operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Site Superintendent is the primary on-site leader and is accountable for coordinating all trades, managing daily site activities, enforcing safety protocols, and driving project progress from ground‑up through completion. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and takes ownership of delivering successful projects.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
Act as the primary on-site point of contact for project stakeholders.
Scheduling & Production
Develop, manage, and enforce the project schedule in coordination with Project Management.
Sequence work efficiently and proactively identify and mitigate delays.
Track daily progress and ensure milestones are achieved on time.
Quality Control
Ensure all work complies with plans, specifications, and building codes.
Conduct regular inspections and enforce high-quality standards across all trades.
Identify deficiencies and drive timely resolution.
Safety Management
Maintain a safe, clean, and OSHA‑compliant jobsite at all times.
Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
Take immediate corrective action on unsafe conditions.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
Proactively identify field issues and resolve them efficiently.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to address challenges.
Minimize rework and maintain project momentum.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and site documentation.
Communicate regularly with Project Management on progress, risks, and needs.
Coordinate with city inspectors and ensure all inspections are passed.
Manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and accountability.
Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and site logistics.
Ensure proper manpower and materials are on-site to maintain workflow.
Qualifications
7+ years of field construction experience, with at least 3+ years in a Superintendent role.
Proven experience managing ground‑up, multi‑story residential or commercial projects.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple trades simultaneously.
Advanced ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
Deep understanding of construction sequencing, methods, and best practices.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Proficient in construction management software (Procore, MS Project, MS Office, etc.).
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Ability to work Monday–Friday with occasional weekends as needed.
