Position Summary
The Volunteer Social Media Manager supports WOCOTM’s mission by assisting with social media content creation, scheduling, and community engagement across our platforms. This role is ideal for someone looking to contribute their skills for social impact, gain nonprofit experience, and support a growing organization.
This is a volunteer role and does not replace or duplicate any paid staff position.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and drafting social media content aligned with WOCOTM’s mission and campaigns
Create engaging posts for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter)
Schedule posts using approved social media tools
Monitor comments and messages and flag inquiries to staff as appropriate
Support promotion of events, programs, and fundraising initiatives
Track basic engagement metrics and share insights with the team
Collaborate with staff and other volunteers to ensure consistent messaging
Qualifications
Passion for social justice, nonprofit work, and community empowerment
Basic knowledge of major social media platforms
Strong written communication skills
Creativity and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet agreed‑upon deadlines
Previous social media or digital marketing experience is a plus, but not required
Able to use Microsoft 365 and AI tools
