Apply for this Associate Director of Information and Strategic Analysis position with the Pennsylvania Department of Education's State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) and join the committed staff of SBHE as we develop the information, analysis and tools needed to support the Board's efforts to strengthen and coordinate Pennsylvania's higher education sector.
In this Associate Director of Information and Strategic Analysis position, you will support SBHE's external engagement and internal analytic capacity relating to higher education policy and supporting data needs. Utilizing large federal- and state-level postsecondary data systems, you will create reports and analyses in response to stakeholder requests, create data analysis tools and visualizations accessible to a broad range of stakeholders, and communicate the value of the sector and its contributions to the common good.
This position also includes liaising with executive and cabinet-level staff at higher education institutions, professional associations, and government agencies and officials, as well as other higher education workforce and economic development organizations, members of the public. Specific tasks may include testifying at public hearings, presenting at state and national meetings and conferences, and leading small and large group meetings to discuss research and related policy.
Our team will rely on your expertise in the field of higher education, understanding of the nuances and diversity of the complex higher education landscape, and professional quantitative analytical experience utilizing large federal- and state-level postsecondary data systems to not only assemble and analyze large-scale data but also interpret and communicate findings to diverse external stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Data Analytics Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of professional quantitative analytical experience utilizing data preparation, statistical analysis, or data visualization software programs and a bachelor's degree in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, data science, economics, actuarial science, geographic information systems (GIS), or a related STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics); Thirty (30) graduate credits in data analytics or a closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires three or more years of full-time professional quantitative analytical experience within a higher education setting or in collaboration with higher education researchers or clients, utilizing large federal and state-level postsecondary data systems.
