DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Police Training Education Specialist, you will provide technical assistance and prepare forensic training courses for PSP staff, municipal police officers, and federal law enforcement partners. You will develop course materials, reproduce approved course materials, and distribute learning resources to students. You will also research state-of-the-art forensic methods, recommend enhancements to existing course materials, and create workshop samples. This role requires thorough forensic knowledge to provide on-site instruction and the ability to assist with evaluating and implementing forensic standards. In addition, you will set up and break down mock crime scenes, maintain course registries and training databases, and manage all photographic subpoena AR 6-3 and AR 9-10 requests for the Bureau of Forensic Services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer that includes or is supplemented by one year of teaching or formal training experience in law enforcement programs, and completion of 60 college credits.
Additional Requirements: You must have two years of experience processing crime scenes for a law enforcement agency. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
