Senior Estimator

Job Description Job Description Senior Estimator Elford is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts across General Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, K-12 Education, Collegiate Education & Student Housing, and Multi-Family Housing projects. This role is central to how we pursue workdeveloping accurate, competitive estimates and ensuring budgets reflect real-world construction execution. Youll partner closely with Operations and Business Development from early concept through final submission, while mentoring Estimators across the team. What Youll Do Lead estimating efforts for negotiated, GMP, lump sum, and conceptual projects Develop detailed estimates and budgets across all CSI divisions, including MEPs Review drawings and specifications to identify scope, risk, and constructability considerations Perform and oversee digital quantity takeoffs and pricing Review estimates prepared by others for accuracy and completeness Support bid strategy, pursuit planning, and Go/No-Go discussions Coordinate with Operations, Accounting, and Business Development throughout pursuits Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing using digital bidding platforms Support value engineering, alternates, and systems comparisons Compare estimated vs. actual costs to support continuous improvement Mentor and support Estimators and Senior Estimators What You Bring Strong working knowledge of estimating across all CSI divisions, including MEPs Experience estimating commercial or vertical construction projects Ability to analyze complex documents and clearly communicate cost drivers and risk Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits Collaborative, practical approach to working across teams Technology & Tools Experience with digital takeoff and estimating platforms is required. Additional consideration given to candidates familiar with: BuildingConnected Sage On-Screen Takeoff JOIN Autodesk platforms Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Experience & Education Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred 7 years of estimating experience Experience with negotiated, GMP, and lump sum projects required Prior experience mentoring junior estimators preferred Why Elford At Elford, estimators are embedded in the pursuit and execution processnot siloed.
