
Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Director to lead the Corporate FP&A function. This position will partner with the Program Finance and Accounting teams to manage all internal, external, and ad hoc reporting, company-wide financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting activities, and manage and improve overall financial operations. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and develop a small and growing team at the corporate FP&A level, driving a culture of thorough, accurate, value‑add analysis and understanding of financial performance
Coordinate preparation and review of monthly and quarterly reporting to internal and external stakeholders at the consolidated, segment, and business unit levels
Lead and manage annual operating plan (AOP) and monthly/quarterly forecasting activities
Create forward‑looking financial projections across the three financial statements
Lead and manage indirect cost pools and service centers, cost allocations, cost controls, and rate management activities
Coordinate with Business Unit Finance Directors on all financial operation activities, including, but not limited to, monthly reporting, capital planning, backlog, and indirect budget management
Perform historical financial analyses through extensive data reconciliation and consolidation
Directly interface with the Business Units and all cross‑functional teams serving as a critical liaison to the various stakeholders across the organization
Use scenario and sensitivity models to forecast possible financial outcomes at the top and bottom line, while creating key metrics for monitoring and preparing variance explanations
Develop and implement robust financial reporting leveraging business intelligence tools
Provide audit support and data requests across the organization
Interface directly with key corporate and business unit leaders and working under limited supervision
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience and direct experience in the FP&A function
Demonstrated experience and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Primarily Excel & PowerPoint
Understanding of financial management concepts such as funding, revenue, cost, profit, billed AR, unbilled AR, subcontracts, purchase orders, etc
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ingenuity with the ability to effectively achieve organizational established goals and objectives
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, customer service and collaborative team environment
In‑depth understanding of Costpoint and related systems
Strong analytical abilities, problem solving skills, and ability to execute solutions
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Prior corporate experience in government contracting
Other Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
