
Contract Specialist

NSI requires a highly capable Intermediate Contract Specialist to support a face-paced Department of Defense (DoD) contracting environment. This role will perform a full range of pre-award and post-award contracting functions across multiple acquisition types, including GSA schedules, commercial services, and task/delivery orders under Multiple Award Contracts (MACs).
The ideal candidate will operate with a high level of independence, sound judgment, and accountability. This position supports a dynamic office environment and requires a professional who can serve as a reliable, "go-to" resource across contracting activities.
Key Responsibilities
Execute pre-award and post-award contracting functions in accordance with FAR/DFARS and agency regulations
Develop, review, and manage solicitations, contracts, modifications, and supporting documentation
Administer contracts for GSA procurements, commercial services, and MAC task orders
Conduct market research, cost/price analysis, and negotiation support
Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations and internal policies
Coordinate with program managers, legal, finance, and external stakeholders
Monitor contractor performance and support contract closeout activities
Provide guidance and recommendations to support efficient acquisition strategies
Location Huntsville, AL (On-Site)
Education Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
Experience At least 10+ years of experience in DoD contracting or a combination of government and contractor acquisition experience. Demonstrated experience performing both pre-award and post-award functions. Experience with GSA contracts, commercial acquisitions, and MAC task orders. Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS and DoD acquisition processes.
Security Clearance Secret Clearance is required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
