About The Role The Associate Director of Partner Recruiting – US is an integral part of Latham’s Partner Recruiting & Integration team. This role will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the firm’s US lateral partner and counsel recruiting function, working closely with the Director of Partner Recruiting – US, the Director of Global Partner Recruiting, firm leadership, and office administration to support the firm’s priorities for expanding the partnership through lateral partner and counsel hiring in the US offices. The position is located in our New York office and may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in‑office presence.

Responsibilities

Ensure responsibility for all US lateral partner and counsel recruitment processes, securing approvals, broader support for hires, and escalating issues to leadership with appropriate judgment and discretion.

Provide day‑to‑day management, leadership, and development opportunities to the US‑based members of the partner and counsel recruiting team.

Maintain a strong working knowledge of the firm’s practice and industry platforms and cultivate relationships with partners across the US to execute recruitment priorities and strategies.

Serve as a day‑to‑day point of escalation and provide strategic direction to US‑based Partner Recruiting Managers.

Act as a resource and strategic advisor to partner sponsors throughout the recruiting process, proactively identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.

Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information.

Qualifications

Demonstrate excellent leadership skills, including organizing, planning, problem‑solving, and decision‑making.

Possess well‑developed interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels and external recruiting agencies.

Exhibit strong personnel management skills, including training and development of manager‑level colleagues.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably an MBA, JD, or Master’s Degree.

Minimum of ten (10) years of recruiting experience in a professional services setting, with at least five (5) years in a management role.

Pay Range USD $270,000.00 – USD $310,000.00 per year.
