About the Role The Research Services Associate Director is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for department services, staffing, and operations in the relevant region, while leading all facets of research services in a region including research and analysis, monitoring services and special projects, outreach and awareness, and operations. This role will be located in either our New York, Washington, D.C., or our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Other key responsibilities include:
Collaborating with the Research Services Director, Technology & Information Services, and with other business services to enhance workflow and streamline processes to meet attorney and business services research needs by leveraging artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies
Supervising and developing Research Managers; providing regular feedback and generating formal performance evaluations as required; making recommendations in selecting, coaching, and counseling department employees with department leadership and Human Capital & Talent
Contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards for research services in alignment with the firm’s overall strategy
Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Possess experience leading teams, particularly in adapting to change while ensuring excellent services
Exhibit superior knowledge of research platforms and operational systems
And have:
A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant professional experience
A minimum of ten (10) years of cumulative experience
A master’s degree or J.D.
