We believe transportation is more than movement; it’s the foundation of connected, thriving communities. As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

Primary Responsibilities The Civil EIT/Designer will work as a member of the civil engineering design team on projects serving clients in the New England area. The position involves preparation of plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimation for projects of various sizes and complexity, including highway and local roadway design, green infrastructure, stormwater management, drainage and grading, and multi‑modal transportation designs for clients such as MassDOT, MBTA, NHDOT, RIDOT, and the City of Boston.

Preferred Qualifications

Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.

Candidates with at least one prior internship in the AE industry preferred.

Local candidates preferred.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions.
