Job Description Exceptional service and cuisine are hallmarks of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess dining experience. As a server assistant, you will take pride in the integral role you play in supporting your Food & Beverage Colleagues and “setting the stage” for a truly memorable meal.
Exhibit sincere hospitality. Go above and beyond for the guest. Be obsessed with guest satisfaction.
Complete knowledge of all products, procedures, and standards.
Be an expert on all things restaurant related. Ace tests. Answer questions. Study.
Offer the highest level of support. Assist their server as much as possible in as many ways as possible.
Clear tables when guests are finished. Work with other bussers and servers to make sure enough “hands” are available when a table is finished.
Set each table in their section flawlessly and perfectly. Check each table for completeness of setting. Obsessed with knolling (organizing by parallel or 90‑degree angles). Make sure tables are aligned perfectly, chairs are aligned perfectly, candle holders, etc.
Stock side stations and maintain appropriate pars of silverware, glassware, napkins, share plates, marking trays and condiments throughout service.
Taste in polishing items and make sure they are fingerprint and smudge free. Quietly stock these stations by placing items gently and softly.
Maintain water levels throughout service. Remember which positions are which tables are drinking which type of water.
Pick up debris and clean any spills or grease on the floor. Be the first person to grab a broom and dustpan when something breaks.
Maintain overall cleanliness of the dining room. Check chairs, banquettes, as well as underneath tables.
Help clean and stock all supplies. Organize and stock appropriate linen pars.
Perform all assigned side work before, during, and after the shift. (Bonus points for doing it with a smile).
Qualifications
Previous experience of at least one year in food and beverage
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
