The Director of Intake and Assessment ensures a comprehensive assessment to patients seeking treatment for psychiatric or substance abuse disorders. This role oversees the assessment of all persons seeking services. The Director completes initial assessment on patients seeking treatment, supervises staff in responding to all inquiries for services via phone, fax, or walk-in, responds to all incoming inquiries within established timelines, makes and supervises treatment recommendations based on clinical presentation and within established clinical criteria guidelines, reviews clinical presentation with admitting psychiatrist, documents calls and sets appointments for callers seeking treatment, creates, revises, and implements the schedule of the assessment and referral office, interprets treatment to patient and family to ensure understanding of treatment options, refers and triages patients to other sources of treatment when appropriate, assesses, coaches, and develops team skills in assessment, patient and family interaction and overall therapeutic care, and collects, monitors, and reports service performance data as required to hospital quality program. Essential Functions

Assumes personal responsibility for obtaining and maintaining professional development and education. Maintains or obtains relevant licensure as appropriate. Utilizes management, financial, regulatory, and clinical and systems knowledge to assess market needs, and collaborates with Business Development Liaison and business development staff to ensure timely response to inquiries and referrals; gathers data from a variety of sources in systematic manner, tracking, trending, and analyzing and synthesizing performance indicators. Demonstrates leadership in planning and scheduling department in an efficient manner that supports timely assessment of referrals, manages staff, and promotes clinical demands. Responds to community/market needs, regulatory changes, patient service needs and quality service demands. Provides oversight of human and fiscal resource financial performance, maintaining budgetary and safety guidelines. Accepts participation in special projects, other duties, and appointments to hospital/local/regional committees as appropriate. What We Offer

Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, diplomacy, and relationship building. Ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and handle complex situations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Attention to detail and timely follow up. Knowledge of and commitment to the mission, philosophy, and objectives. Must read, write, and speak fluent English. Qualifications
Minimum Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling Master's Degree in Nursing pending State requirements. Licensure in State of Practice. Independent Practice Scope Licensure 2-5 years of leadership experience. 2-5 years of experience in the discipline. About Our Health System
