About the Role
Talarico for Texas is building a movement to take back power for working people. The campaign is seeking a full-time Deputy Research Director to report directly to the Research Director and support the research team in producing high-quality self and opposition research. This is not an entry-level position.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Research Director and manage the work of other members of the Research team
Conduct research using public records, news clips, campaign finance reports, travel records, disclosures, and research databases
Write rapid response research documents with precision and attention to detail
Collaborate with the communications and digital teams on cross-departmental processes
Fact-check and approve public-facing campaign materials
Direct the campaign’s vetting program
Qualifications
1-2 cycles of political research experience. Campaign and/or committee experience preferred.
Mastery of standard research bullet writing
Experience with LexisNexis, court records retrieval, campaign finance analysis, and other public records research
Exceptional critical thinking skills
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large
Reports to: Research Director Location: Austin, Texas (statewide travel sometimes required)
Salary: $8,000 per month
