Residential Estimator

Full-time role from 7 am-5 pm Monday through Friday, some weekends
How the Role Aids the Mission/Vision: As a Residential Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by accurately estimating the costs of residential tile and flooring projects. Your ability to take precise measurements on-site, understand construction processes, and analyze data will ensure that Houston Grey can provide competitive bids that reflect the true value of our services. Your work directly impacts our ability to win projects and maintain profitability, contributing to the company’s long-term success.
Qualities a Person Needs to Have to Thrive in the Role:
Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
Proficiency in taking accurate measurements and assessing project sites
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs
Proficiency with estimating software and tools
Daily Tasks:
Visit clients' homes to take accurate measurements and assess the scope of the project
Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
Work closely with installers/project manager to clarify project requirements and resolve discrepancies
Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to determine the best options for the project
Prepare detailed estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs
Present estimates to clients, negotiate terms, and adjust estimates as necessary
Monitor project budgets and make recommendations for cost control during the project
Tech You Will Use:
Comp-U-Floor/Projul
Communication tools (email, phone, text)
Measurement tools (laser measurers, tape measures)
