Overview
The Director of Accounting leads all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP. This role partners closely with executive leadership to support business growth, optimize processes, and provide strategic financial insights across the organization.
Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop ahigh-performing accounting team
Establish and improveaccounting processes and workflows
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management
Audit & Compliance
Serve as primary liaison forexternal and internal audits
Ensure stronginternal controls and risk mitigation practices
Maintain compliance withregulatory and reporting requirements
Systems & Process Improvement
Driveautomation and efficiency initiativeswithin accounting operations
Implement scalable processimprovement to bettersupport companysuccess
Strategic Finance Partnership
Partner with leadership onbudgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Provide insights and analysis to supportbusiness decision-making
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
10–15+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience leading accounting teams inmid-to-large organizations
Strong knowledge ofGAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Experience withERP systemsand financial tools
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Preferred Experience
Experience inhigh-growth or private equity-backed environments
Background inmulti-entity or multi-location organizations
Experience withsystem implementations or transformations
