Manager, Employee & Labor Relations

We are searching for the best talent for a Manager, Employee & Labor Relations located in Tampa, FL or New Brunswick, NJ to help foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. This is an individual contributor role that partners with HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to address employee relations matters, strengthen manager capability, and ensure consistent application of policies and practices. Key Responsibilities: Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and HR partners on complex employee relations, performance management, conduct, attendance, and policy interpretation issues. Lead and/or support impartial workplace investigations (e.g., harassment, discrimination, retaliation, code of conduct), including planning, interviews, documentation, findings, and recommendations. Partner with Legal and HR to assess risk, ensure consistency, and support sound decision-making, including disciplinary actions and terminations. Develop and drive proactive ER strategies (trend analysis, root cause, preventative action plans) to strengthen engagement and reduce repeat issues. Design and deliver manager enablement (training, toolkits, coaching) on ER fundamentals, difficult conversations, documentation, and respectful workplace expectations. Coach and train junior colleagues on ER fundamentals, investigation best practices, documentation standards, and effective case management. Lead ERLR projects and workstreams (e.g., policy updates, process enhancements, training initiatives, case management optimization) from scoping through implementation and change adoption. Identify trends and make recommendations on continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the employee experience, strengthen leader capability, and improve ER process consistency. Maintain case management records, ensure timely resolution, and produce dashboards/insights for HR and business stakeholders. Partner with Centers of Expertise (Total Rewards, Talent, Security, EHS) on cross-functional matters impacting employee experience and compliance. Help ensure practices align with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required (HR, Industrial Relations, Business, or related field preferred) 6+ years of progressive experience in employee relations, HR investigations, and/or HRBP roles with significant ER scope. Working knowledge of employment laws and ER best practices (e.g., Title VII, ADA/ADAAA, ADEA, FMLA, and wage and hour considerations), and experience partnering with Legal. Demonstrated experience conducting investigations and writing clear, objective documentation. Strong coaching and influencing skills with the ability to advise senior leaders and navigate sensitive situations with discretion. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and comfort facilitating difficult conversations. Analytical mindset with ability to identify trends, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and operating effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, matrixed environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting ER in complex environments (e.g., multi-site operations, matrixed organizations) and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders. Experience leading ER-related projects and change initiatives (e.g., policy/process improvements, training rollouts, case management enhancements). Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer health, manufacturing). Prior use of HR case management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, HRIS ticketing systems) and comfort producing metrics and insights. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or similar. Location & Travel: Location: Tampa, FL or New Brunswick, NJ.
