Contract
Position Summary We are seeking a
Cloud Architect
to support a portfolio of Azure-based modernization, migration, and delivery initiatives. This is a
hands-on delivery architecture role
focused on execution—not enterprise strategy.
This individual will operate in high-visibility, fast-moving environments, helping bring structure to ambiguity and driving initiatives from
assessment through implementation . You will partner closely with engineering, platform, networking, and security teams to ensure solutions are
practical, scalable, and aligned with operational standards .
Key Responsibilities
Lead solution architecture and delivery planning for Azure modernization and migration initiatives
Drive adoption of
private networking models in Azure , including firewalls, NSGs, routing, and segmentation
Lead migration of
MuleSoft integrations to Azure API Management , evaluating when to re-architect into AKS-based services
Partner with security and platform teams to standardize
API endpoints and edge routing (Imperva)
Support retirement of legacy integration patterns (SFTP, FTP, ECS), defining target-state solutions using
Stonebranch and AKS jobs
Provide architectural guidance for
.NET modernization
(Framework ? .NET 6/8/10), including feasibility and impact analysis
Review and validate solution designs across application, infrastructure, security, and operational readiness
Collaborate with engineering teams on implementation details across
Docker, Helm, Bicep, and API specifications
Assess and challenge implementation approaches (C#/.NET) to ensure alignment with architecture
Partner with Information Security and governance teams to move designs through approval processes
Present architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to leadership and governance boards
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly communication
Operate effectively in
ambiguous, high-pressure environments with compressed timelines
Required Qualifications
Experience as a
Solutions Architect, Delivery Architect, or Application Architect
in enterprise environments
Strong hands-on experience with
Microsoft Azure
(applications, integrations, delivery architecture)
Experience migrating
MuleSoft ? Azure API Management
Strong understanding of API vs. non-API integration patterns and re-architecture strategies (e.g., AKS workers)
Experience with
Azure API Management , including policies, lifecycle, and OpenAPI/Swagger standards
Solid understanding of
Azure networking
(private endpoints, NSGs, routing, segmentation)
Experience working with
Imperva
or similar API gateway / edge security platforms
Familiarity with
Stonebranch
or comparable job orchestration tools
Experience with
AKS-based workloads
(jobs, workers, containerized services)
Ability to review and assess
Docker, Helm, and Bicep
artifacts
Ability to read and validate
C# / .NET implementations
Experience supporting
.NET modernization initiatives
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to operate effectively in
ambiguous, high-impact environments
Experience partnering with
Information Security and governance teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in
highly governed enterprise environments
with formal architecture review processes
Background in
legacy system modernization and integration retirement
Experience working across
application, infrastructure, network, and security teams
Familiarity with
containerized application delivery in Azure
Working Style
Comfortable stepping into
unclear or evolving environments
and creating structure
Able to balance
architecture quality with delivery pragmatism
Not an on-call role, but requires participation in
occasional evening cutovers (10 PM – 1 AM)
