Typical Years of Requisite Experience: 8+ Years Expected Experience 8+ years of communications or public relations experience Prior in-house role at a professional services firm or PR agency serving A/E/C, real estate, or consulting clients Direct responsibility for earned media placements Experience supporting senior leadership (Principals, Managing Directors, Practice Leaders) Proven ability to translate technical content into compelling narratives Core External Communications Skills Write and distribute press releases and media alerts Pitch stories directly to local, national, and trade media Maintain and actively manage media lists Secure project features, interviews, and speaking opportunities Manage incoming media inquiries with leadership alignment Thought Leadership & Content Development Interview principals and subject‑matter experts Ghostwrite articles, op‑eds, and LinkedIn thought leadership Develop conference abstracts and speaking submissions Maintain an editorial calendar aligned with strategic priorities Internal Communications Draft studio and regional announcements Support leadership messaging and internal updates Communicate wins, promotions, hires, and strategic initiatives Ensure internal clarity and alignment with external messaging Strategic Capabilities Advise leadership on what is newsworthy and when to communicate Develop quarterly or annual communications plans Prioritize efforts based on growth goals and market impact Identify reputational risks early and recommend mitigation Tools & Technical Proficiency Microsoft Office / Google Workspace Press distribution and monitoring tools (Cision, Meltwater, or similar) LinkedIn content management Basic analytics and reporting on reach, engagement, and pickup quality What This Role Is Not Not a full‑time social media manager Not a marketing manager replacement Not a firmwide brand or crisis communications lead Not a people manager 12‑Month Performance Expectations 15–30 earned media placements 6–12 published thought‑leadership pieces Award submissions with finalist or win outcomes Clear communications calendar tied to studio priorities Reduced dependence on external PR agencies Strategic Value to the Atlanta Studio Amplifies visibility of existing project work Increases ROI on marketing and BD efforts Supports credibility ahead of major pursuits Provides leadership with consistent, professional communications support Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated multimedia content creation skills Excellent interpersonal skills with a “customer service first” mindset Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Strong supervisory and leadership skills Excellent multimedia and editorial skills Software Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office products, and WordPress required Adobe Premiere or Audition, Canva (Preferred but not required) Licensure/Certifications/Education Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required Application Instructions Interested candidates must submit a cover letter, resume, and work samples that demonstrate relevant experience.
