For more information, please visit www.gordonbrothers.com. Description Prepare appraisals for a large team of in-office and remote machinery and equipment appraisers. The Specialist will be involved with the development of appraisal reports for Machinery & Equipment clients that will detail specific traits and conditions of the equipment appraised by Gordon Brothers and in support of the evaluation as reflected in the appraisal analysis. This position will work closely with the appraisal team to write and proofread appraisal reports. Job Specifications Responsible for maintaining an active listing of upcoming machinery and equipment appraisal client engagements; prepares notes and research for current jobs to be ready for processing when given approval. Proofread transcribed machinery specifications from appraisers’ site inspections according to established style guidelines. Notify appraisers by email of any questions and make necessary corrections in proprietary database by navigating the database efficiently. Proofread the appraisal while taking into account job notes and client specifications. Proofread for typos, grammar, and unclear sentences. Notify appraisers by email of any questions. Use proprietary database and report generation system to produce accurate appraisals using internal guidelines. Review final report for accuracy to ensure it meets client specifications. Produce Excel exports of machinery records for client if requested. This includes formatting the Excel document according to specific guidelines. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2-3 years relevant editing or proofreading experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong keyboarding skills. Ability to quickly learn proprietary database systems. Detail oriented, able to prioritize and take initiative. Ability to handle a diverse and fast-paced environment and react with urgency, when required. High standards for quality and strong proofreading, spelling and grammar skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a quiet, casual environment. Ability to take ownership of all phases involved in the completion of an appraisal. High level of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Deadline driven; must be able/willing to work outside of regular scheduled hours without advance notice, if necessary.
