
Commercial Lending Intern - OKC, Expressway

8-week internship program with Central Oklahoma Lending and Credit teams to observe and review credit and financial reports to determine risks involved in loaning money or extending credit. The intern will work closely with Central Oklahoma lenders, portfolio managers, and management as they assist in monitoring the existing loan portfolio and help in efforts for new client development. Essential Functions and Basic Duties: Spreading and analysis of commercial financial statements for prospective and existing loan customers. Assist in performing financial analysis and underwriting of loan packages, which includes preparing charts and narrative related to analysis of sources & uses, capitalization, historical and projected financial statements, financial covenants, stress testing, and collateral valuation. Assist in diligence for prospective and existing customers related to business descriptions, industry analysis, market analysis, and other general credit risk factor analysis. Reviewing loan request presentation packages including loan structuring, collateral analysis, guarantor analysis, and calculation of Global Debt Service Coverage. Obtain and analyze appropriate diligence materials for the evaluation of collateral value. Rotations through various departments as available. Shadowing opportunities as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. Required Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Skills/Abilities: Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex financial information and identify relevant risks. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Position Location: The primary position location will be the NW Expressway banking center in Oklahoma City. Applicants must be based in the OKC metro area. Housing or relocation costs will not be covered. Only the hotel, travel, and food costs of training in Dallas (should the program require it) will be covered. Physical Activities and Requirements of This Position: Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.) Working Conditions: None: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office). Mental Activities and Requirements of This Position: Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions. Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage. Able to perform very simple algebra. Language Ability: Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
