Commercial Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Estimator with expertise in accurately identifying, quantifying, and recording piping and equipment associated with various mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of budgeting, unit pricing, pipe sizing, and general code compliance, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Responsibilities

Review all bid documents and seek clarifications during the bid process to ensure an accurate bid is assembled. Create detailed estimates with appropriate material, labor, and subcontractor selections, including alternates and unit pricing when required. Survey potential projects to identify the best solutions for pricing. Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals to ensure compliance with job requirements and specifications. Estimate HVAC and plumbing projects and change orders to comply with corporate profit guidelines and project requirements. Provide conceptual design and pricing to support HVAC and plumbing designs. Complete system take-offs in accordance with current processes. Consider and evaluate potential value engineering options and costs with the team. Develop project general conditions and other estimate scope summaries, schedules, and deliverables as necessary. Participate in bid finalization and review when necessary. Essential Skills

Proficiency in pipe takeoff software. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Experience with Building Connected Software. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction office environment. Organizational skills for curating documents related to work orders and personnel. Aptitude to learn new systems. Mechanical knowledge. Experience in project management. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Construction Business Management is preferred. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Experience in assembling detailed quotes. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills. Excellent communication, relationship building, and customer service skills. Work Environment

The role is based in a fast-paced construction office environment, requiring collaboration in an open/team setting as well as the ability to work independently when necessary. Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, and specialized software such as Building Connected is essential. The position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, TX. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
