Weekend Assignment Desk

FOX8 WGHP is looking for someone who can bring energy, organization, and a sense of urgency to fill our open Weekend Assignment Desk position. You will help coordinate news coverage, react to breaking news, research and pitch story ideas for weekends and three days a week. They will also fill in on other shifts as needed. The right candidate should have excellent editorial judgement and have a keen sense of logistics.

Skills & requirements:

• Good communicator
• Available to take on-call assignments
• Listen to the scanner and respond to breaking news
• Develop and maintain contacts
• Assign crews and track them throughout the day
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, or related field preferred
