Director – Alternative Investment Oversight (Private Credit / BDC Funds)
Location: Boston, MA or Merrimack, NH (Hybrid)
A leading global asset manager is seeking a Director to join its Asset Management Treasurer’s Office, supporting the oversight of private credit and alternative investment products.
This role sits at the intersection of investment product oversight, fund accounting review, financial reporting, and new product launches, working closely with teams across investment management, fund operations, compliance, risk, and technology.
The position offers strong visibility across the organization and the opportunity to help support the growth of a rapidly expanding private credit investment platform.
The Role The Director will play a key role supporting the oversight of private credit and alternative investment funds by reviewing fund operations, financial reporting, and regulatory filings while partnering with internal stakeholders to support new product launches and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Oversight and review of NAV calculations and fund financial statements
Reviewing SEC filings and regulatory reporting
Supporting the launch and operational readiness of new alternative investment products
Monitoring and evaluating service providers and operational processes
Partnering with investment, compliance, risk, technology, and operations teams
Identifying operational issues and leading remediation efforts
Supporting governance and oversight processes across alternative investment products
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across a large investment organization.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:
8–12+ years of relevant experience in asset management, fund accounting, or public accounting
Direct experience with private credit funds or Business Development Companies (BDCs)
Strong understanding of loan accounting and private credit fund structures
Experience reviewing fund financial statements, NAV calculations, and regulatory filings
Familiarity with SEC reporting and fund regulatory requirements
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively across multiple business units and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or public accounting background
Experience in Big 4 or large accounting firms
Experience with alternative investment product launches or operational oversight
