Overview
Our Intern program is a
paid
opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization’s success while applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.
Intern Expectations All Interns are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each intern will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.
Important Dates Our Summer Program runs from Monday, June 1, 2026 through Thursday, August 20, 2026.
Office Hours
9:00 am – 6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor. Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor’s schedules.
Intern Requirements
Be available to work under 30 hours per week.
Be available to report to the New York Office approximately 3-days a week.
Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad).
Be enrolled in a graduate school.
Have a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree.
Graphic Design (Social Media) Intern Job Description
Assists the Social Media team in designing graphics for Excel social channels
Assist in versioning out template-based content
Assist in developing creative concepts for social media initiatives
Proficiency and experience in Adobe Photoshop are required
Must provide creative portfolio
Must demonstrate high attention to detail and consistency
Learns the importance of C.A.R.E. (consistency, authenticity, relevance and engagement)
Will learn the design process of content to be published for approved stories and in-feed posts
Will develop skills needed to design content specifically for social media
Will learn to maintain brand consistency across social channels
Will have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings
May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Social Media/Communications group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel.
The pay for this position is: $17.00 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the California and New York City Salary Transparency Law.
