Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Director for a national organization. This position is offered as hybrid within Washington, DC, or remote for exceptional candidates.
Position Overview The Development Director will lead the organization’s fundraising strategy to expand diversified revenue streams that advance its mission of improving women’s preventive health. This role will design, cultivate, and steward high-impact corporate, foundation, and individual partnerships across healthcare and aligned sectors. The ideal professional is a strategic, relationship-driven fundraiser who can independently build systems, partnerships, and sustainable pipelines for long-term organizational growth.

Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that expands corporate, foundation, and individual giving. Cultivate and manage corporate partnerships, including stewarding a structured corporate engagement program. Develop compelling proposals, grant applications, sponsorship materials, and donor-facing communications. Build and steward strong donor relationships through consistent outreach and strategic engagement. Support and help execute fundraising events, donor meetings, and program-aligned initiatives. Track fundraising performance, maintain CRM data, and ensure compliance with all 501(c)(4) fundraising guidelines.
Qualifications Expertise in 501(c)(4) fundraising strategy and regulatory compliance. Strong track record building corporate partnerships within healthcare or related sectors. Demonstrated success securing significant corporate, foundation, and individual contributions. Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and proposal-writing abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, high-impact team.
Compensation & Benefits This role offers an annual salary of $130,000–$140,000. A comprehensive benefits package (for full-time employees), flexible work arrangements, provided technology equipment, and professional development opportunities are included.
