Overview

A growing engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking an experienced

Director of Environmental Planning

to lead environmental planning projects and help expand its Environmental Services team. This role combines

project leadership, environmental compliance expertise, and business development . The person in this position will oversee environmental documentation, manage client relationships, and help grow new service opportunities. Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of environmental compliance documents (CEQA and NEPA). Manage environmental studies and related technical reports. Coordinate with internal teams, environmental specialists, and outside consultants. Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Communicate with clients and regulatory agencies (city, county, and environmental review agencies). Assist with proposal preparation and business development efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and agencies. Supervise and mentor a small team of environmental planning professionals (approximately 2–5 staff members). Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Planning, or a related field. Approximately

15+ years of experience in environmental planning or consulting . Strong knowledge of

CEQA and NEPA environmental regulations . Experience managing environmental projects, schedules, and budgets. Experience working with public agencies and regulatory bodies. Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred

Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with infrastructure, land development, or public sector projects. Existing relationships with agencies or clients in Southern California. Experience leading proposals, marketing, or business development efforts. Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary:
