The Arc of Union County Inc. is a leading provider of Person Centered services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Adult Day Services programming. Under the guidance of Assistant Executive Director, Clinical Services or designee, the Director, Day Behavioral Health is responsible for overseeing the provision of evidence-based Behavioral Services to adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders and other comorbid conditions. The role encompasses a comprehensive assessment of the behavior(s)/triggers, collection and review of data, development of structured behavioral modification plans and utilization of evidenced based practice, implementation of the plans, ongoing training and periodic reassessment of the plans consistent with BACB standards. The Director, Day Behavioral Health has full administrative responsibility and accountability for the quality of day habilitation program and behavioral services delivered in the Behavioral and Behavioral Health Program. This position will assure the effective implementation of "person focused" plans for all service recipients. The incumbent will actively implement developed program systems, policies and initiatives to meet the identified needs of our individuals served and families and provide recommendations to the Assistant Executive Director, Clinical Services for review. The incumbent will oversee compliance with program policies and procedures, and ensure that the programs operate in a safe, therapeutic and efficient manner. This position is responsible to ensure that all programming provides education and training to acquire the skills and experience needed to participate in the community, consistent with the participant's Service Plan. This includes activities that support participants with building problem-solving skills, self-help, social skills, adaptive skills, daily living skills, and leisure skills. Activities and environments are designed to foster the acquisition of skills, building positive social behavior and interpersonal competence, greater independence and personal choice. The Behavior and Behavioral Health Day Habilitation Program ensures that the service recipients are engaged in small group outings to the community, leisure, educational activities and community experiences. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of Behavioral Support Activities that includes Behavioral assessments, Development of behavior support plans, Implementation of behavior plans, Periodic approval and reassessment and monitoring of behavioral plans consistent with the Arc of Union County's DDD approved Behavior Support Manual/Division Circular #34. The incumbent ensures that behavioral needs are identified, and measurable outcomes are achieved through participation in Behavioral intervention and are included in the Individual Service Plan (ISP). This position will oversee the implementation of a philosophy that enhances achievement of service recipients' full social inclusion, independence, and personal and economic well-being. The incumbent provides oversight to ensure implementation of strategies necessary to assist the individual in progressing toward his/her personally defined outcomes as indicated in the Individual Service Plan (ISP). This position requires thorough knowledge of Fee for Service model system. The incumbent is a member of a support team that assesses individual support needs and determining relative need for services. The Director, Day Behavioral Health will assure a high level of quality program supervision and management. The incumbent will assemble staffing teams and directly Assistant Director, Day Behavioral Health Supervisor, Day Behavioral Health, Supervisor, Day Behavioral, Support Professional, Day Behavioral and other personnel as assigned or required. This position is responsible for staff evaluations and personnel actions. The incumbent will provide oversight in the assembly of staffing teams and assure the development of staff competencies. Foster and maintain positive employee/management relations; develop an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork. The Director, Day Behavioral Health develops high quality Behavior Services within the program and oversees the delivery of behavior services and supports. This position will oversee the implementation of a philosophy that enhances achievement of service recipients' full social inclusion, independence, and personal and economic well-being. The incumbent provides oversight to ensure implementation of strategies necessary to assist the individual in progressing toward his/her personally defined outcomes as indicated in the Individual Service Plan (ISP). This position requires thorough knowledge of Fee for Service model system. The incumbent is a member of a support team that assesses individual support needs and determining relative need for services. This position requires completion of DDD System Mandatory Training Bundle within 90 days of hire, DDD and Agency Orientations, other designated trainings and a minimum of 12 Hours of Professional Development completed annually. This position requires that information related to service recipient, employee, program operations is handled, channeled, managed and delivered professionally to the appropriate and right personnel or party consistent with agency and department policy. This is an exempt position and the incumbent reports to Assistant Executive Director, Clinical Services.
