Investment Strategist
As an Investment Strategist, you will collaborate with the portfolio consultant and portfolio management team to develop investment strategy, product selection and asset allocation recommendations as well as facilitate the analysis of prospective client holdings. The Investment Strategist will assist the portfolio management team by communicating with financial advisors and their clients as needed and by providing ongoing support on investment-related activities. The Investment Strategist will also provide guidance to the internal sales team for non-Wealth Advisory cases in which advice on asset allocation and portfolio construction is needed. In this role, you'll get to: Review and understand risk tolerances and goals of prospective clients to make appropriate product and asset allocation recommendations Assist in investment management of client portfolios as directed by portfolio management team Generate proposals based on recommendations for tailored investment portfolios to be presented to advisors and/or prospective clients Meet with advisors to review proposals Review client allocations for consistency with objectives and make rebalance recommendations as necessary Create portfolio analytics to support allocation recommendations for new/existing advisor clients Create macroeconomic and market related content including, but not limited to, blogs, videos, and general commentary Have a thorough understanding of investment managers and strategies available to advisors and their clients that have been evaluated by Orion Maintain knowledge of services available to Orion clients and advisors based on client needs Comprehend investment strategic positioning and be able to articulate this to advisors and/or clients Assist Associate Strategists, Analysts, and Interns with questions and assist in training necessary Assist advisors with any general investment related requests Assist with due diligence reviews. Including due diligence calls and running analysis comparisons for current and prospective strategies We're looking for talent who: Has an understanding of economics and capital markets as well as various investment vehicles including, but not limited to: Mutual Funds, ETFs, SMAs, Direct Indexing, and Private Investments. Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment Ability to present financial analysis results to advisors and end clients Ability to interact and work effectively with other departments within the organization Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Effective written, listening, and verbal communication skills Effective problem solving and organizational skills Owns and manages relationships with both internal and external stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization Has a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field This position requires a Series 65 license or both Series 7 and 66 licenses. If the required license(s) are not held at the time of hire, they must be obtained within 90 days of the start date. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment in accordance with company policy Has a minimum of 3 years of investment industry experience Preferably has CFA or CFP, or progress towards one of these designations Has previous experience in market research, asset allocation, portfolio management or investment due diligence preferred with higher preference given to client facing experience Salary Range: $80,530.00 - $121,594.00 The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
