Overview One of the oldest middle-market investment banks with over several decades of experience advising public and private companies, as well as private equity firms, is aggressively growing in key sector verticals. Their services include mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, restructuring, and valuations, delivered by sector-focused teams with deep niche industry expertise. The firm operates across some of the largest sectors including but not limited to: Healthcare, Industrials, Technology, and Consumer.

We are partnered with the Industrials team and their Aerospace & Defense Investment Banking platform. They are looking for seasoned Investment Banking MDs with established sector knowledge, network, and relationships.

They are seeking candidates with proven revenue generation experience of approximately $5mn+ in annual M&A advisory fees.

Role Overview Senior Aerospace Investment Banking MD responsible for originating and executing middle-market M&A and strategic advisory transactions across the Aerospace & Aviation ecosystem, while helping scale the firm’s Aerospace & Defense franchise. Coverage areas may include commercial aviation services, aerospace components, MRO, aviation distribution, avionics, and defense-adjacent technologies.

Responsibilities

Originate, structure, and execute sell-side M&A transactions with enterprise values ranging from $50 million to $500 million (core sweet spot $200 million–$500 million)

Develop new client relationships and originate advisory mandates with aerospace founders, executives, and private equity sponsors

Maintain and expand long-standing relationships with strategic acquirers, financial sponsors, and industry executives

Lead the full transaction lifecycle including strategic positioning, marketing process, buyer outreach, negotiations, and closing

Deliver high-quality strategic advice and execution excellence, with transaction fees typically in the $1.5–$2 million+ range per engagement

Build and lead deal teams, mentoring Directors, Vice Presidents, and junior bankers

Drive new business initiatives across high-growth subsectors within Aerospace & Aviation

Collaborate with the firm’s capital markets, restructuring, and valuation teams to deliver integrated client solutions

Represent the firm at industry conferences, investor meetings, and sector events to expand the firm’s presence in the Aerospace market

Contribute to the overall strategy and continued expansion of the Industrials and Aerospace practice

Qualifications

15–20+ years of Investment Banking experience with a proven track record of closing M&A transactions in the Aerospace/Aviation sector

Demonstrated ability to originate $5mn+ in annual advisory fees

Established niche expertise in Commercial Aviation, Aerospace Services, or Aerospace Components

Strong network of C-level executives, founders, and private equity investors within the Aerospace ecosystem

Demonstrated ability to originate and execute deals in the $100 million–$500 million enterprise value range

Deep understanding of Aerospace industry dynamics, supply chains, and consolidation trends

Entrepreneurial mindset with the capability to build a sector practice and scale a team

Exceptional leadership, client management, and communication skills
