Working closely with the Regional Controller for NC, this leader helps reinforce a unified, enterprise‑wide service delivery experience while tailoring execution to regional needs.

With a strong operating foundation in place, this role is focused on

planning, executing and monitoring the adoption of strategic initiatives

The Regional Controller’s impact is less about direct transactional oversight and more about developing leaders, strengthening decision support, improving execution discipline, and elevating the way accounting partners with the business.

This leader will coach and develop regional accounting leaders, reinforce consistent controllership standards, and build FP‑A–like financial partnership through all levels of the organization—helping dealership and operational leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, and drive action. The ideal candidate brings deep dealership accounting knowledge, strong people leadership skills, and the ability to translate strategy into execution—creating clarity, consistency, and confidence in the accounting partnership as the organization continues to scale and evolve.

Can be located in any hub location in the US. (ex. NJ, WA, CO, FL)

Job Responsibilities: Own the store relationship + resolve issues end-to-end (regional “face of accounting”) at the regional level

Serve as the escalation point of contact for dealership accounting leadership within the region, ensuring questions/issues are owned through resolution—even when work is completed by Central, Corporate, or Accounting Ops (no store runaround).

Provide high‑touch support and rapid issue clearing during close and in day‑to‑day operational cadence (variance analysis, OEM programs, deals funding, inventory, etc.).

Translate in both directions: operational reality → accounting/controls requirements, and accounting impacts → “what this means for the GM.”

Regional controllership + close ownership (quality, rhythm, predictability)

Ensure operational accounting excellence exists across all stores and teams in the region, centered on issue awareness and resolution and leadership through change.

Own the close outcome for the region (material accuracy, predictable rhythm, and disciplined review/escalation). Review and analyze consolidated dealership financial results for patterns, inconsistencies, and unusual balances; drive corrections and root‑cause fixes with the appropriate team(s).

Ensure effective transactional accounting and a strong financial control environment across the region, including key reviews and audit action plans.

Financial partnership to operations (performance insights + decision support)

Communicate financial insights and recommended actions to improve results (expense discipline, margin opportunities, working capital/inventory, capital spend, compensation awareness).

Be a financial thought partner to key operational stakeholders; support underperforming stores by coordinating resources, removing obstacles, and tracking action plans.

Participate in store visits and business reviews with regional operational leaders as needed.

People leadership, development, and capacity management (regional team excellence)

Lead, mentor, and motivate regional Dealership Accounting leaders and teams to achieve high performance and productivity.

Ensure highly effective leadership and organizational structure is in place (succession, capability building, coaching, talent pipeline).

Evaluate span/coverage models to meet service levels and productivity expectations; recommend adjustments to improve throughput and reduce work being pushed up.

Change leadership + integration execution (especially during transition periods)

Lead and reinforce adoption of process changes, pay plan/accounting classification changes, and operational/central service initiatives within the region.

Support M&A integration for assigned stores—partnering with ops and finance peers to ensure obstacles are removed and resources are aligned.

Provide feedback loops to Accounting Operations and Central Accounting to address recurring issues with standard tools/cadence (pattern recognition across stores).

Cross-functional coordination + escalation management

Collaborate closely with Centralized Accounting and Corporate Accounting to ensure clean handoffs, timely issue resolution, and strong controls.

Partner with HR, Payroll, FP&A, Procurement, and Retail Operations to support cohesive execution and consistent outcomes.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
