National Assurance Director

to join the

SEC

team in our

National Assurance

practice.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in‑office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR TEAM This position will support our US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Practice. The Director position within CohnReznick’s National Assurance Office offers a rare blend of technical leadership and support of client service professionals. It’s a platform to shape the future of assurance quality and compliance with SEC rules and regulations by our clients. You will work directly with Assurance Partners and other professionals serving SEC clients, occasionally interact with clients, and assist in communications with the SEC both related to client service or representing the Firm on SEC proposals relevant to the Firm. Additionally, this role will collaborate with other leaders in National Assurance who lead areas involving risk, auditing, accounting, and monitoring.

YOUR ROLE Responsibilities

SEC Rules & Regulations

Consultations on application of SEC Rules & Regulations

Follow SEC rulemaking

Communicate on behalf of Firm with SEC staff on exceptions, waivers, pre‑clearances, consultations and comment letters

Review draft responses to SEC staff comment letters by SEC issuer audit clients

SEC Reporting

Review filings with the SEC for our SEC clients

Support engagement teams in SEC comment letters to our clients

Support the engagement team through consultations and comments related to SEC‑registered security offerings and private placements of SEC clients

Accounting for Public Entities

Collaborate with the National Director of Accounting in monitoring and implementing Accounting standards revisions that apply only to public companies like EPS, Segment Reporting, SEC Staff Accounting Bulletins

Your Experience The successful candidate will have:

BS in accounting

Licensed CPA

Minimum 10+ years audit & accounting experience in a public accounting arena

Significant expertise in SEC requirements and reporting

Prior experience in SEC Services group of National Office or Professional Practice at other accounting firms preferred

Strong research and professional writing skills

Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi‑task

In California, the salary range for a National Assurance Director is $227,000 to $294,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. Salary is one component of the CohnReznick total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded and inclusive parental benefits, to name a few.
