Legal Director

I’m working on a Director hire within a well-established sales & trading legal team, focused on fixed income derivatives. This sits within a strong and well-supported business area, and you’d be joining a relatively lean team (Director + 2 VPs), so there is genuine exposure to the desk and senior stakeholders rather than multiple layers. The role is focused on supporting fixed income trading across rates and FX, advising on structuring, regulatory issues and broader business initiatives as they arise. It’s a seat where you’re expected to be involved in the detail but also able to step back and take a view. They are looking for someone who already has a solid grounding in fixed income markets, either from a top law firm or a well-regarded financial services platform. This isn’t a generalist role and probably won’t suit someone looking to move into the space for the first time. What they do value though is a bit of breadth alongside that core expertise. Someone who can engage with the business, communicate clearly and operate with a degree of commercial judgement rather than just technical depth. I’ve worked with this team for a long time and it’s consistently been a strong platform, both in terms of the quality of work and the people you’d be working alongside.
