Food and Beverage Provide leadership support and operating expertise in food and beverage as a value‑added service to managed communities across the region.

Description Manager, Food and Beverage

Responsibilities

Drive increase in additional F&B revenue, with P&L accountability to operating budgets through financial reporting and F&B operations.

Lead customer service and resident experience improvements through development and refinement of F&B SOPs and best practices, driving operational improvements and consistency.

Create implementation plans to support the execution of F&B programs, products, pricing and menu changes in conjunction with the association board, developer and management teams.

Assist properties with people and talent recruitment, mentoring, training, and managing F&B teams to maximize profitability and develop a service culture.

Conduct evaluations and present recommendations, strategic options and business plans to associations in the areas of F&B.

Support growth and sales process to communities with F&B operations.

Ability to work on site to support and/or cover for property position deficits.

Perform detailed evaluation reports on properties to ensure communities are in compliance with F&B standards as assigned by the VP of Community Solutions in conjunction with the association.

Assist in recruiting and interview efforts.

Review and assist in F&B budgets for properties, assess and evaluate new properties, complete F&B transition checklists and performance improvement plans.

Review, develop, and update service standards for all F&B operations at properties.

Assist with the budget Capex bids for kitchens and bar operations.

Lead F&B start‑up process and actively assist with new openings, including marketing to residents.

Build and conduct FOH and BOH audits.

Provide oversight and approval for creating menu concepts, staffing guidelines, cost of sale and revenue initiatives for communities in conjunction with the association and management team direction.

Ensure optimal balance with respect to resident satisfaction and service experience with financial accountability and annual budget.

Provide research, development, evaluation and implementation of new services, technology and processes in anticipation of changing service needs.

Analyze trends in service ratings and resident feedback to troubleshoot and take corrective action when necessary.

Conduct regular visits and audits to review the property operations during each visit, meeting with the management to discuss the objectives of the visit, progress observed and results achieved.

Lifestyle partnership – meet with F&B and Lifestyle Director while on property to assist with events and organizational processes.

Partner with training to support staff in back and front of the house, ensuring they are properly trained on food service operations using company SOPs and food service health and safety standards.

Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.

Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.

Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules; notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.

May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain a specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies and regulatory guidelines.

Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.

Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.

Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

Matrix responsibility for community F&B leadership in conjunction with community General Manager and association board.

Travel

75% travel required as well as some nights and weekends based on property events.

Travel could be required weekly.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in F&B Management or a 4‑year degree; or equivalent experience.

Ten (10) years of progressive leadership responsibility.

Strong financial skills for budgeting and monitoring food and beverage financial performance.

Strong understanding of bar operations, casual and upscale dining and kitchen procedures.

Ability to work on site and cover vacancies in the restaurant for extended periods of time until a suitable replacement is hired and onboarded.

Strong leadership, teaching, diagnostic and analytic skills.

Results oriented; works within an approved budget, conserves company resources, and knows the company goals.

Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans.

Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to improve profitability, F&B brand standards, cost control and resident service scores.
