Position Overview WOCOTM is seeking a volunteer Journalist skilled in AI-assisted research and content creation to help tell the powerful stories of our communities, programs, and global impact. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social justice, women’s empowerment, and innovative storytelling that integrates responsible AI tools. You will contribute to articles, interviews, program spotlights, human‑interest stories, newsletters, web content, and digital campaigns—all amplifying the voices of women and girls on the move.
Key Responsibilities
Research, write, and edit compelling stories, articles, and reports aligned with WOCOTM’s mission.
Use AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) ethically to support writing, research, drafting, and multimedia content.
Conduct virtual interviews with program participants, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.
Produce content for our website, newsletters, training materials, and social media platforms.
Collaborate with WOCOTM’s Communications & Programs teams to ensure messaging is accurate, trauma‑informed, and culturally grounded.
Uphold WOCOTM’s branding, voice, and content integrity across all deliverables.
Protect confidentiality and adhere to organizational ethics and privacy guidelines.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills.
Ability to use AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity and content quality.
Knowledge of or interest in social justice, women’s leadership, community empowerment, advocacy, or global development.
Ability to communicate with empathy, accuracy, and cultural awareness.
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
Experience in journalism, media, communications, creative writing, or related fields (professional or student‑level welcome).
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
