Fashion Designer

Insomniac is looking for a Cut & Sew / Fashion Designer to lead the creation of Insomniac's elevated fashion line. This standalone collection complements our festival merchandise while pushing the brand into new territory with streetwear-driven, performance-ready pieces. This candidate can provide a strong creative point of view, blending music culture, streetwear aesthetics, and functional fashion for festival environments. They'll partner with Creative, Merchandising, and Production teams to design innovative collections that resonate with our community and reinforce Insomniac's position at the intersection of music, fashion, and youth culture. This position will report to the Apparel Director, Creative. This is not a remote position. Responsibilities: Design and develop seasonal apparel collections from concept through production, including streetwear, festival wear, and performance gear Create mood boards, sketches, color palettes, technical flats, and detailed tech packs Select fabrics, trims, and finishes that balance design intent, functionality, and cost feasibility Partner with Production and Technical teams on prototyping, fit sessions, and design integrity Research fashion, streetwear, and festival culture trends to inform design direction and identify whitespace opportunities Collaborate with Creative, Merchandising, Marketing, and Event teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across collections and campaigns Develop exclusive capsule collections for festivals and special events Introduce innovative materials, silhouettes, and garment functionalities (e.g., reflective trims, UV-reactive inks, quick-dry fabrics) Maintain alignment with Insomniac's brand DNA while pushing creative boundaries and driving cultural relevance Manage design files, collection overviews, and cost engineering processes to ensure commercial viability Train and provide support in onboarding team members, clients, vendors and partners when needed Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field 3+ years of apparel design experience, ideally in streetwear, performance wear, or music-related fashion Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-production design work Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Figma, and CAD programs Solid understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and production processes Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills Passion for music, nightlife, and youth culture, particularly in electronic music and festivals Work Environment: Must be willing to travel to work during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and drastic temperature climates while working on site at various event locations Must be able to work in open concept office space Equal Employment Opportunity: Insomniac strongly supports equal employment opportunity for all applicants regardless of age, ancestry, color, religious creed, family and medical care leave, mental or physical disability, marital status, domestic partner status, medical condition, genetic information, military and veteran status, political affiliation, national origin, race, sex, gender, gender identity, and gender expression, sexual orientation, intersectionality, or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law, rule, ordinance or regulation.
